At the State of Play on 3 September, Sony revealed two limited-edition DualSense controllers inspired by GTA VI: one black and one white.
What they look like
Both have a colour-shifting shimmer finish, between the hues of a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon, and palm trees moulded into the shell itself, along with the game’s official logo. The white one is meant as Vice City at daybreak; the black one as its nightlife.
Price, pre-orders and date
- Price: $84.99 (£74.99 in the UK, €84.99 in the eurozone).
- Pre-orders: open since 10 September.
- Release: 19 November, the same day as the game.
Where to buy them
Both come in limited quantities. The white one is sold on PlayStation’s own store (direct.playstation.com) and at participating retailers. The black one is sold only on PlayStation’s own store where it operates, and in other regions through select retailers.
What the controller adds in the game
According to Sony, GTA VI uses the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which respond to what happens on screen. That works with any DualSense, not just these two: the limited edition changes how the controller looks, not what it does. We cover it in the consoles guide.
