Cookie policy
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job. This page explains which ones Leonida Map uses and why.
What is always stored
The site sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser's local storage only for what is strictly necessary, which by law needs no consent:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
leonida:found | The points you mark as found on the map. It only exists if you mark one, and it never leaves your browser. | Until you delete it |
leonida:consent | Your cookie choice, so you are not asked again on every page. | Until you delete it |
What only loads if you accept
If you press "Accept" in the cookie notice, Google Analytics loads and sets these cookies to count visits statistically. If you press "Decline", or do not choose, nothing loads and nothing is set.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tell visitors apart anonymously to count visits. | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Keep the state of the statistics session. | 2 years |
The site implements Google Consent Mode v2: every signal starts denied, and only your "Accept" changes it. Declining later deletes these cookies.
Spotify and YouTube players
Some news pieces include a Spotify or YouTube player. Until you press play you only see an image served by this site, and those services are not contacted. Pressing it loads their player, which may use its own cookies under their policies (Spotify, Google/YouTube). The notice next to the button says so.
How to change your choice
You can change your mind at any time: the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page reopens the notice.
You can also delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings. More about your data in the privacy policy.
